Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”

G. Michael Hopf,Those Who Remain

Such a true quote. But I'm sure someone will complain and say that its sexist because of the toxically masculine pronouns. Too bad. Just use your little imagination and pretend that the word 'men' is replaced by 'people'. The end result is exactly the same.

In this nation, we have it so good that we have forgotten how we got here. Many of us didn't forget because we never knew. I heard someone talking about truly tough people, notably men, in this example. The young men, many teenagers, who stormed the beeches at Normandy. These guys were real men. Teenagers and young men in their early twenties. They knew they were going to die by the thousands. They saw each other get killed, inches away from each other. But yet they pushed on and did what needed to be done.

Look at us now. Our teenagers eat tide pods and have to wear a life jacket to go to the water fountain. If the barbarians were at our gates, we'd be bitching back and forth about what/who we identify as and what sign needs to go on bathroom doors.

I even heard a news commentator say that the new VP running mate to Sleepy Joe 'identifies' as black. I didn't know we could 'identify' as a race or a color now. She's just as much something else as she is black, so I wonder why she chose that identity? Wait, I know why. Maybe because she's pandering for votes. If it helped her in a different way, I'm sure she'd 'identify' as one of her other ethnic or racial options. Talk about an effed up culture we have in this nation. We are ALL so privileged that we have to make things up to fight about. Jesse Smollett even had to create a racist incident because he couldn't find someone to be racist 'enough'. And the media gave him a pass. Unbelievable.

On the topic of identifying as a certain race, ethnicity or color, lets look at something:

If Africa is the motherland to humanity, meaning, if the first humans supposedly started in Africa, then doesn't that make ALL humans descendants of these people? And if so, then where is the cutoff? As in, where is the line drawn to where a modern human cannot claim to be a descendant of these original Africans?

I'm unsure as to how there can be a cutoff, anywhere. If we are ALL descendants of these folks, then we are ALL related to them. So why can't I identify as an African now? Where is the cutoff? Cant I go to school for free? Do I get preferential hiring rights? I want to identify as a therapy dog. Can I fly free now?

The other question would be: Where did we really come from? Were the first humans really from Africa? Were there multiple, simultaneous populations of humans scattered around the Earth? The hypotheses are multiple and nobody truly knows.

But I do know this: If we keep playing this identity politics bullsh*t, we are going to become more and more divided as a nation. And this whole BS about voting people into office based on symbology or their identity is grotesque and will lead to our downfall.

Let me illustrate the BS, double standard, very simply.

Lets say your child or your mother had some unique/rare condition that required an intensive and risky surgery to save their life. You had about a week or so to find a surgeon to perform this procedure. Do you honestly care what color skin the best surgeon has? Do you care if its a he or a she? Do you care if the surgeon is gay? If you spoke with 100 doctors and they ALL said that this one particular doctor is the best of the best of the best, would you really give two sh*ts what the doctor looked like? If you do, you're an irresponsible moron. A sane and rational person would hire the best PERSON for the job, not the surgeon most underrepresented or the one with the biggest victim card. If the BEST surgeon turned out to be a left-handed, dyslexic, black female that identified as a green blueberry muffin, then that is who should get the job. Just as if the best surgeon happened to be a white male. Any deviation from this logic is, to me, ridiculous and illustrates how identity politics is destroying and weakening the base talent pool of this nation.

The madness has to stop. Stand up. Stop being sheep.
